Help My Dad Fight Stage 4 Cancer: 68 Years of Love, Struggle, and Faith

In mid April of 2023, my 68 year old dad was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer.

Our world was turned upside down.

It’s been a tough journey for all of us, but especially for my dad, who’s been feeling sick, tired, and moody most of the time. And it’s not just him who’s suffering. My mom, Sylvia, has had to take time off of work to take care of him, which means less income for her and dad. We need your help.

But before I go any further, let me share with you some biblical scriptures that have been giving us hope and comfort in these trying times:

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” – Psalm 18:2

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

We believe in the power of prayer and faith, and we know that with God’s help and your support, we can overcome this challenge together.

My dad has always been a fighter. He worked in remodeling jobs for 40 years, and he always made time to help others in need, even when he was exhausted. He adores his grandchildren and would do anything for them. Now it’s our turn to give back and show him how much we care.

That’s why we started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help with my dad’s medical expenses and my mom’s lost income. We’re not asking for much, just enough to cover the basics and ease the financial burden on our family. Every little bit helps.

We reached $700.00, and has made a huge difference!

My mother in law always says, “An inch is a mile!” She is right.

We would be forever grateful if you could share this post with your friends and family, and consider donating to our fundraiser. Let’s show my dad that he’s not alone in this fight, and that we have his back no matter what.
