10x Success With A Serial Killer and Copywriter
10x Success With A Serial Killer and Copywriter
“Life’s only obligation, after all, was to be interesting.”
―Dexter Morgan, Darkly Dreaming Dexter
Serial killers have a specific target and obey constraints.
The same goes for copywriters.
In a sea of copywriters, I love my position as a Psychotainment Copywriter.
It allows me to slice off psychology and entertainment and sew up ads for markets to devour.
You see, 80% of my job is to find “fatty tissue” in the market and slice off a piece without wasting any muscle or bone.
That’s why I love the dark television series Dexter.
By day, Dexter Morgan is a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami police department.
By night, Dexter is known as “The Bay Harbor Butcher.”
His unique spin? He’s a serial killer targeting other serial killers.
I admire his workflow and ability to shut off emotions like a light switch.
Incredible discipline to get a dirty job done!
By obeying his constraints, he can’t be lured to stop or think about “should I be doing this?”
Sounds crazy, but copywriters must strive to have a Dexter mindset.
I’m not saying be a serial killer!
I am saying is to practice observation.
See behavior without emotions getting involved.
Make note-taking a 24-hour job.
Obey constraints.
Be the one to grab a butcher knife and chop off infected pieces of the market.
10x success comes by understanding the market.
And your market loves mystery and antiheroes.
