Acidic… Salty… And Rough

When I was 7 years old, my mother would tell me to take out the trash before bedtime.

We lived in a run-down trailer, and neighbors weren’t very close.

I was a bit scared after my father spotted a hungry badger in our front yard. This isn’t uncommon in Wyoming. Our distant neighbors owned horses and a chicken coop next to our backyard. Animals everywhere. Including my sisters…

Anyway…

My young self was so scared and visioned being attacked by a badger!

You might be saying, “Arnold, why are telling me this story?”

Well, this has to do with business.

We can all agree that business can fry you up in New York Minute, right?

They’ll eat you up so fast, you’ll just have to scream while being dragged down a dark dirty hallway…

But it’s okay. No need to worry.

Why?

Are you ready for this?

Ahem… We ONLY do what we know.

You see, when I was taking out the garbage as a kid, I never had a worry in the world. And I didn’t know about the badger until my father had me keep an eye out the next time I was out to take out the trash.

Now that I knew of this creature in the dark… fear crept into my brain.

All I could think about is being attacked by a hungry badger.

But to this day, at the ripe age of 36… I never saw that badger.

And to think… just by KNOWING of the badger, I let my brain and body produce and soak in fear and ACID!

I was so stressed out and worried that I would be attacked.

I sweated so much… the badger would taste nothing but salt on my skin!

AND I would be nothing short of a very ROUGH ending.

This is the power of knowledge.

What you know. And what you don’t know.

What does this have to do with business?

Ask yourself some questions about what you know.

And be careful of your input and output.

For example:

  • Who do you hang out with?
  • What books are you reading?
  • What does your morning routine consist of?
  • What subjects do you like to talk about?
  • When do you get really scared?
  • How do you handle failure?

You’ll get important feedback when you pay attention to what you know.

This can lead to what you don’t know…

Interesting stuff, right?

You possess power and sword greater than you know.

The power of knowledge.

But don’t let it freeze you to death.

If you freeze, you become stuck for ages and ages!

By the power invested in knowledge, I pronounce you FREE!
