Crack Cocaine Before Church
I was at a Joel Osteen speaking event last night.
I don’t go to church.
I don’t even know what to label myself in the world of God.
But… I do know that people are in serious need of self-help. Seeking a swift word to take on the battles they face each day.
It was a 90-minute event. It felt like 10 minutes because when you enjoy the moment, time bends.
Toward the last section of the event, Joel asked people in the audience to stand up if you feel like you need to release some past pain, and if you stand, we will happily pray for you.
20% stood up without hesitation.
That’s it.
So that means the other 80% felt shame. They didn’t want to feel the ANY pressure or have judgment.
Mankind skimming the surface of life obstacles.
And when an obstacle come blowing down your doors, gimme some crack cocaine to take the pain away.
Hey… Joel said he would pray for you. The message was as clear and clean drinking water.
Yet, even in the house of good word and peace, the majority hesitated and gave into shame and embarrassment.
Customers are the same.
Hypnotized by their shame.
The past.
The guilt.
Truly believing they are not ready for forgiveness.
So, they must go out back into the world with the same pain.
If they avoid pain — Do you avoid pain too?
In your business and life, what is pulling you down?
Most likely, it has ZILCH to do with your business.
And has to do with some sort of other problem.
The problem isn’t the problem.
Maybe a childhood event, or a pesky neighbor, or pushy in-laws is haunting your mind while you are in auto mode.
Sneaky shyt.
That feeling like a butterfly in a hurricane.
So… maybe… just… journal about it.
Talk it out with yourself.
It might be a “coming to Jesus” moment, without having to hard shift your beliefs.
And when I say, Jesus and God… I mean in a higher self. It could be Thor. I don’t know! Whatever you want this higher wisdom to be.
Seek counsel.
Listen, I don’t go to church. And I like being to myself with the bible.
On another note, you and I both know that community is a key better thinking of a problem.
Go find your tribe.
