Don’t Give Up Hope
How a copywriting legend said a few words and made me feel incredible.
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
Gone With the Wind, 1939.
John Carlton is freaking legend in copywriting, marketing and sarcasm.
Florida is a sweaty environment. Tampa is hot, the women are fit and sexy, and the food is creamy good!
After attending one of the best-copywriting seminars in the world, I figure t0 take on the group party be a lurker of downtown. (take that any way you want.)
A great night, because not only did I get to chat with John Carlton. The universe put David Deautch, Parris Lampropolus, and about 100 other seasoned and upcoming copywriters in my path of opportunity!
Gin and juice style.
I was nervous — but in a good way.
I said to John “Hey, John… Do you have any tips for a young pup copywriter?”
He said, “Yea… Don’t give up hope.”
Even better, I could feel John’s energy blast of “I don’t give a rat ass”!
I love that about John. He doesn’t get flustered or angry about meeting people. He is over it. He has ran the mile. And enjoys his beer with peace.
Yoda is similar.
Gives short statements of wisdom, and the young, Luke Skywalker becomes stronger.
That’s the power of taking an opportunity to approach.
Are you feeling the burn about your business? Maybe it’s your income, and feel burnout.
Don’t get caught up in hordes of zombies eating up your dreams.
You aren’t bothered about pain.
You are too focused on pain.
Change your self-talk, and concentrate on work and what you want.
The universe will reward your efforts and self-praise.
It’s the key to success. And not giving up hope.
Thank you, Mr. Carlton.
You grey beard, you.
